Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain accounting records across multiple group entities, including purchases, sales, bank transactions, payroll entries, accruals, and general ledger postings;
  • Perform monthly and annual closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting;
  • Support group consolidation processes and assist with the preparation of consolidated financial information;
  • Reconcile payment processor transactions, subscription revenues, and bank movements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records;
  • Manage intercompany transactions and ensure appropriate recording and reconciliation across group entities;
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other tax-related obligations in collaboration with external advisors where required;
  • Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow reporting, and financial performance analysis;
  • Act as a point of contact for external accountants and auditors, preparing supporting documentation and audit files as required;
  • Support the development and maintenance of standardised accounting procedures, reporting structures, and financial controls across the group;
  • Utilise AI tools and automation technologies to improve bookkeeping, reconciliation, reporting, and financial processes;
  • Monitor cash positions, supplier payments, and treasury-related activities across the group.

Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within an accounting or finance role;
  • Experience working within a multi-entity or group structure will be considered an asset;
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes;
  • Experience with financial consolidations will be considered an advantage;
  • Ability to manage multiple entities, currencies, and reporting requirements simultaneously;
  • Experience using AI tools and automation technologies within a professional environment is essential;
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools;
  • Experience within a SaaS, subscription-based, fintech, or similar digital business environment will be considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with Maltese accounting and tax requirements will be considered an asset;
  • Exposure to payment processors, reconciliations, and chargeback-related processes will be considered an advantage;
  • Fluency in English is required; French and/or Maltese will be considered an asset.
