Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain accounting records across multiple group entities, including purchases, sales, bank transactions, payroll entries, accruals, and general ledger postings;
- Perform monthly and annual closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting;
- Support group consolidation processes and assist with the preparation of consolidated financial information;
- Reconcile payment processor transactions, subscription revenues, and bank movements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records;
- Manage intercompany transactions and ensure appropriate recording and reconciliation across group entities;
- Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other tax-related obligations in collaboration with external advisors where required;
- Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow reporting, and financial performance analysis;
- Act as a point of contact for external accountants and auditors, preparing supporting documentation and audit files as required;
- Support the development and maintenance of standardised accounting procedures, reporting structures, and financial controls across the group;
- Utilise AI tools and automation technologies to improve bookkeeping, reconciliation, reporting, and financial processes;
- Monitor cash positions, supplier payments, and treasury-related activities across the group.
Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification;
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within an accounting or finance role;
- Experience working within a multi-entity or group structure will be considered an asset;
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes;
- Experience with financial consolidations will be considered an advantage;
- Ability to manage multiple entities, currencies, and reporting requirements simultaneously;
- Experience using AI tools and automation technologies within a professional environment is essential;
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools;
- Experience within a SaaS, subscription-based, fintech, or similar digital business environment will be considered an asset;
- Familiarity with Maltese accounting and tax requirements will be considered an asset;
- Exposure to payment processors, reconciliations, and chargeback-related processes will be considered an advantage;
- Fluency in English is required; French and/or Maltese will be considered an asset.
