Our client is a well-known grocery store.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with management to develop and refine procedures for daily operational inventory cycle counts and weekly spot checks by shop/territory managers;
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of stock variances discovered during physical inventory counts, investigating underlying issues and prompting management action when required;
  • Review pending invoices and open purchase order data to rectify any discrepancies affecting perpetual stock records in the system;
  • Review weekly wastage and consumables costs per shop to find and fix issues affecting ongoing stock records;
  • Accurately adjust stock levels in the system, consulting with the Cost Controller and getting CFO approval when necessary;
  • Spearhead initiatives for process enhancements aimed at achieving organizational goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses to support business decisions;
  • Identify and suggest cost-effective solutions for operational efficiency improvements;
  • Aid in preparing financial presentations for senior management and board meetings to support decision-making.

Experience

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance;
  • Previous experience in a retail setting;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced features such as Pivot Tables;
  • Experienced in various inventory control activities to maintain efficient stock management;
  • Familiarity with accounting practices relevant to inventory management.

  • Known for meticulous attention to detail in all tasks;
  • Be analytical;
  • Have good presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic inventory control principles and a track record of accurate record-keeping.
