Our client is a leading accounting and auditing firm.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assisting clients in defining and establishing the corporate Risk Management strategy and structure;
  • Carrying out various activities to assess the clients’ level of adequacy and compliance with respect to their respective legal/certification criteria and obligations;
  • Addressing clients’ gaps with relevant regulations by designing data-driven regulatory compliance and response solutions;
  • Supporting clients in the drafting and implementation of appropriate and relevant policies and procedures, registers, business risk assessments and compliance program initiatives;
  • Building an in-depth knowledge of the client’s business in order to support the senior manager in acting as a trusted advisor to clients by keeping up-to-date with trends and innovation efforts ;
  • Carrying out risk assessments, defining risk frameworks, educating clients around risk management practices; 
  • Assisting in the carrying out of on-site visits and drafting of the relevant reports;
  • Ensuring a high level of integrity and quality in our reporting is maintained;
  • Working towards becoming an internal point of contact as well as providing proper communication on regulatory changes throughout the organisation; 
  • Keeping abreast with the latest local and international regulatory developments and issues that affect the industries and sectors our clients operate in.

Experience

  • Hold a university degree or equivalent in Law, Accountancy, or a compliance-related diploma/certificate;
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience preferably working in a similar role in Malta;
  • Possess adequate knowledge in the main areas of interest such as Risk Management.

Personal Skills

  • Fluency in verbal and written English;
  • Sound computer literacy in Microsoft Suite & Outlook;  
  • Ability to work within a small team where you are expected to think outside of the box;  
  • Have a keen interest in regulatory and compliance related topics;
  • Possess a willingness to further grow your knowledge in the fields of interest listed above and other related areas;
  • Ability to apply a logical and analytical approach to work;
  • Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under pressure abiding to tight deadlines;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Self-starter and motivated to succeed;
  • Driving license and own means of transport.
