Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan an organised visiting schedule in order of priority, in an efficient manner to address any faults or repair of machines, commissioning and/or preventive maintenance;
  • Communicate with clients in a proper and efficient manner, for any visits or passing of information as necessary;
  • Plan for any repairs to be settled, provide an alternative option (short term) and repair the machine in a reasonable time (specific standards to be set in due course);
  • Assist the Sales team at quotation/audit stage. (From a technical perspective);
  • Liaise with our foreign partners to keep abreast and updated on products upgrades, changes and also other important information as necessary;
  • Work-shop and parts upkeep;
  • Incoming and outgoing emails for the  technical department;
  • Be able to be on call during weekends for any faults as may occur;
  • Have a firm grasp of the products and services the Company offer;
  • Follow up on strategies and participate in their inception (from a technical perspective) so these are fully effective and sales can be incremented;
  • Build business by maintaining relationships with current client;
  • Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements;
  • Educate the client in order to help us maintain the machine in good condition for the mutual benefit;
  • Fulfil assigned tasks;
  • Maintain and document important information in order to follow the machine status and records;
  • Handle incoming calls from clients. Telephone must be answered politely and ethics must be used at all time.


  • Higher national; diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Technician Certificate (or equivalent);
  • Preferably also has a Wireman’s license A and/or B.

  • Look professional;
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines. Give feedback on progress and inform all parties so as a closed communication loop exists;
  • Have the ability to understand necessary paperwork and get it completed. This includes being able to use all computer programs associated with the information and forms that must be duly filled out;
  • Be able to attend regular meetings with the management and sales team, to improve sales and also the service. For this purpose meeting agenda should be well prepared. Necessary data should be collected in a proper manner so as KPI’s shall be issued and can be recorded;
