Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Managing and monitoring daily activities of the local ITS team comprising of both technical and non-technical requirements;
  • Day-to-day organisational operations reporting;
  • Delivering ad-hoc short term operational obligations;
  • Managing supplier and third-party relations;
  • Realising approved strategic initiatives;
  • IT systems maintenance planning and process improvement activities;
  • Building IT System technical specification requirements;
  • Process re engineering when required;
  • Supervising all procedural and compliance activities;
  • Management and coordination of local projects;
  • Fulfilling approved initiatives or requests;
  • Supporting the team to guiding them to reach their goals;
  • Monitoring Services and recommending potential operational improvements;
  • Mentoring and training team members;
  • Maximising process effectiveness;
  • Ascertaining compliance for operational, administrative, legislative, and contractual obligations;
  • Engaging with stakeholders and supporting business operations;
  • Reporting regularly on team performance, IT risks and controls, performance management and delivery, security incidents and remediation as well as status reporting on all upcoming and work in progress;
  • Determining how each role can best function within its environment and constraints so that all services can be managed on time, within budget, as efficiently as possible, in line with policy, procedures, and standards and aligned to regional leadership expectation;
  • Collaborating with local and international teams to address operational issues and staff requirements;
  • Leading technical and operational efforts with the local ITS team in the provisioning of service to end-users, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Managing various work streams comprised of regional, global, and local initiatives;
  • Ascertaining ITS support services and Operations are provisioned in accordance with the established delivery expectations and Service Level Agreements (SLA);
  • Managing day-to-day staff requirements to ensure the businesses have the required coverage in place at all times, and that performance of the ITS function meets the expected standards;
  • Overseeing the execution of vendor contracts and services;
  • Delivering periodically defined reporting to Technology Leadership on the project statuses, ongoing activities, issues, incidents, and operational needs;
  • Supporting systems analysis for vendor selections for proposed system acquisitions;
  • Ensuring a timely and robust SLA driven vulnerability management service (VMS) and security patching mandates;
  • Identifying problem areas, escalate swiftly, and propose strategic solutions early on;
  • Taking point on planning, coordinating, and scheduling critical and non-negotiable IT Security and Cyber remediation activities;
  • Engaging and actively work with the team, to resolve issues, enable new ideas, and provide hands-on supervision and support;
  • Organising regular internal meetings, acknowledging team success and auctioning processes to overcome shortcomings;
  • Driving a high-performance culture through participation in and oversight of the completion of the performance management process and engage in solutions expos the team;
  • Managing ITS team members fairly and ethically and help to resolve conflicts or disputes when required;
  • Model the desired behaviour leading by example.


  • At least 5 years' experience managing teams and running technology operations;
  • Minimum of a first degree in Computer science, engineering, or related field;
  • Relevant industry certifications such as MSCE, MCSD, CCNA, CCNP, C|ND, CISM, CISSP, Prince2, CISA, etc.;
  • Proven working experience as an IT Manager or a similar role.

Personal Skills

  • Highly proficient technical professional, with expertise in hardware, software, systems, process, and security appliances;
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network systems engineering;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Strong IT technical background with the ability to articulate solutions to complex problems with ease;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a non-technical audience;
  • Commitment to service delivery and quality;
  • Customer service focus with a results-oriented mindset;
  • Able to manage time-sensitive workloads, at times under pressure;
  • Team player, yet also able to work unsupervised;
  • Excellent time management skills.
