Our client is a leading player in the security sector.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and submit monthly management accounts for designated companies;
  • Accurately compile and file VAT returns within required deadlines;
  • Ensure adherence to statutory obligations and internal financial policies;
  • Assess and enhance existing internal control procedures, updating processes as needed;
  • Establish and manage systems for monitoring company costs, including standard costing, job/project costing, and financial feasibility studies for tenders or other transactions;
  • Coordinate and oversee the budgeting process for assigned companies in collaboration with the line manager;
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, prepare forecasts, and ensure alignment with organizational goals;
  • Calculate and process monthly work-in-progress (WIP), ensuring accuracy and relevance to ongoing projects;
  • Produce ad hoc financial reports and analyses based on management requests;
  • Offer actionable insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance and operational effectiveness;
  • Lead and support the accounts team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and objectives are achieved.

Experience

  • Possess an ACCA qualification or be in the final stages, or hold a University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
  • Strong knowledge of VAT regulations, compliance requirements, and other statutory reporting obligations;
  • Experience in project costing methodologies, standard cost preparation, and financial feasibility assessments;
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with tools such as SAGE, ACCESS Dimensions, or similar is an advantage;
  • Prior experience in a project-based company is considered an asset;
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, project costing, and budgeting processes.
