Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and submit monthly management accounts for designated companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness;
  • Compile and submit VAT returns in line with statutory deadlines and regulatory requirements;
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable financial regulations and internal accounting policies;
  • Review, strengthen, and update internal control procedures, revising processes where improvements are required;
  • Develop and maintain cost-monitoring systems, including standard costing, project/job costing, and financial feasibility assessments for tenders and transactions;
  • Support and lead the budgeting process for assigned entities under the direction of the line manager;
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, prepare forecasts, and ensure financial planning aligns with business objectives;
  • Calculate and process monthly work-in-progress (WIP) figures, ensuring consistency with project progress and financial records;
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and management reports as required;
  • Provide financial insights and practical recommendations to enhance performance and operational efficiency;
  • Supervise and support the accounts team, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.

Experience

  • ACCA qualified or in the final stages of qualification, or in possession of a University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • Previous experience within a project-based environment will be considered an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management processes, including preparation of management accounts, budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting;
  • Sound understanding of cost accounting, job/project costing methodologies, standard cost preparation, and financial feasibility analysis;
  • Good working knowledge of VAT regulations and statutory compliance requirements;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for reporting and financial analysis;
  • Experience using accounting software or ERP systems; familiarity with tools such as SAGE, ACCESS Dimensions, or similar is considered an advantage;
  • Understanding of financial risk considerations within project-based operations, including WIP monitoring and cash flow management.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable within a dynamic and evolving business environment;
  • High level of integrity and commitment to professional standards.
