Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Record and process daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments;
  • Prepare and manage weekly commission reports for the sales team;
  • Handle payroll processing on a weekly and monthly basis using the Shireburn payroll system;
  • Maintain accurate financial records by posting transactions in Sage Line 50;
  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness;
  • Assist in preparing VAT returns, tax filings, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations;
  • Register new employees with Jobsplus and manage employment documentation in line with legal requirements;
  • Process client refunds and issue credit notes as needed, liaising with internal finance departments;
  • Support external audits by compiling and submitting the necessary financial documentation;
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, while supporting cash flow monitoring and reporting;
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end financial close processes;
  • Act as a point of contact for finance-related queries from clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Experience

  • Education to A-Level standard; a qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is considered an advantage;
  • have at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within accounting or finance;
  • Proficient in the use of Shireburn, Sage Line 50, and Microsoft Excel;
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial procedures;
  • Knowledge of local payroll processes, taxation, and employment regulations in Malta;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English is essential; proficiency in Maltese is highly advantageous.

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • Trustworthy and discreet, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
