Company Introduction

Our client is a boutique accounting and auditing firm.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for a portfolio of clients;
  • Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments;
  • Perform bank, creditor, debtor, and balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Prepare management accounts and supporting financial schedules;
  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements;
  • Prepare VAT returns and other periodic statutory submissions;
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities when required;
  • Liaise with clients to obtain accounting records, supporting documentation, and any additional information required;
  • Review accounting records, identify discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding matters;
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures;
  • Coordinate with Audit, Tax, Corporate, and other internal departments when required;
  • Ensure client assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines;
  • Maintain organised electronic accounting records and documentation in line with established procedures;
  • Support additional accounting and finance-related tasks as required.

Experience

  • Must currently be pursuing the ACCA qualification, ideally at an advanced stage and nearing completion;
  • Previous practical experience within an accounting role is required;
  • Experience within an accounting, audit, corporate services, or professional services firm will be considered an asset;
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping;
  • Experience preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and reconciliations will be considered an asset;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software;
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
