Our client is a provider of corporate, tax, accounting, business advisory, and administration services.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with internal departments and regulatory authorities on AML/CFT-related matters;
  • Assist in the review and analysis of key AML/CFT documentation, including Risk Assessments, Customer Acceptance Policies, and internal AML policies and procedures;
  • Support the execution of AML/CFT audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with regulatory obligations;
  • Contribute to drafting examination reports outlining findings and areas for improvement;
  • Organise and maintain structured examination files in line with internal record-keeping protocols;
  • Manage the compliance department’s inbox and ensure timely handling of correspondence;
  • Carry out client onboarding and ongoing monitoring, including thorough due diligence checks;
  • Review and assess screening results, escalating as necessary;
  • Participate in relevant training programmes and continuous development initiatives;
  • Take on leadership responsibilities, including monitoring team performance and ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Oversee junior compliance officers, delegate tasks effectively, and provide guidance where needed;
  • Support the Compliance Manager with transaction monitoring reviews;
  • Maintain and update internal compliance registers with accuracy;
  • Attend Board meetings and shadow the MLRO/Compliance Manager to gain deeper operational insight;
  • Review customer files for completeness and accuracy, ensuring documentation is well organised;
  • Contribute to the drafting of the AML Handbook and creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for departmental updates;
  • Undertake any additional compliance-related duties as assigned by the Compliance Manager;

Experience

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Criminology, Banking, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar compliance or AML-related role;
  • Previous exposure to corporate service providers, audit firms, or the banking sector is considered an asset;
  • Solid understanding of AML/CFT regulations applicable within the EU and Malta.

  • Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken;
  • Capable of producing well-structured reports and presenting findings clearly in both written and verbal formats;
  • Strong analytical thinking and investigative skills to identify risks and propose solutions;
  • Able to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering quality work;
  • Personable and confident communicator, able to collaborate across all levels and provide expert compliance advice to support business objectives.
