Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Issuing and checking fund valuations which must be precise and delivered in time to all clients;
  • Assisting in the preparation of fund management accounts as well as financial reports;
  • Assisting with the implementation of new projects within established timelines;
  • Understanding underlying concepts and principals of fund valuations and the importance of issuing to the client a precise valuation;
  • Appreciating responsibility and comprehending the financial and reputational repercussions a mistake in valuations can have;
  • Being a team player and assisting other team members whenever such is required, constantly keeping the aim to deliver a high-quality timely service to all clients, as priority;
  • Giving regular feedback on possible ways of improving the department and its processes.

Experience & Requirements

  • Possess an MQF Level 5 or higher Academic Qualification in Accounting or Banking & Finance;
  • Also possess a minimum of 6 O Levels (preferably including compulsories Maltese, English and Maths) or MQF Level 3 equivalent qualifications – Intermediates and A Levels shall also be considered in lieu of the O Levels, and other Financial related MQF Level 3 and 4 equivalent educational paths may be considered;
  • Be willing to remain continuously updated on areas directly related to the role;
  • Preferably in possession of previous relevant experience in fund valuations within Fund Administration.

Personal Skills

  • Be knowledgeable about MFSA and Central Bank of Malta guidelines, the Investment Services rules as well as on regulations regarding GDPR, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Financial Crime and Compliance;
  • Hold understanding of collective investment schemes, accounting and valuation aspects;
  • Be an excellent communicator, holding a hands-on approach and a positive attitude;
  • Be attentive to detail, highly committed and appreciative of the duties which the job entails;
  • Be a proficient Microsoft Office computer applications user.
