Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and manage the Client Accounting function, ensuring the effective delivery of accounting services across a diverse client portfolio;
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Accounts Managers, Senior Accounting Officers, and Accounting Officers;
  • Conduct performance reviews, support employee development initiatives, and foster a high-performing team environment;
  • Allocate resources and manage workloads to ensure client and internal deadlines are consistently achieved;
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery;
  • Manage client audit processes and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors;
  • Oversee payroll processes, VAT compliance obligations, and other statutory reporting requirements where applicable;
  • Ensure all accounting deliverables comply with IFRS, GAAP, GAPSME, tax regulations, and statutory requirements;
  • Develop, review, and enhance accounting procedures, controls, and processes to improve efficiency and service quality;
  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients, providing guidance and tailored financial solutions to meet their business requirements;
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and support the growth of additional service offerings across existing client relationships;
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Tax and Corporate Services, to ensure a seamless client experience;
  • Monitor developments in accounting standards, tax legislation, and industry regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice;
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of accounting systems, software, and digital transformation initiatives;
  • Maintain professional memberships and fulfil Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements in line with regulatory obligations.

Experience

  • University degree in Accounting, ACCA qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification;
  • Extensive experience within a senior accounting role, preferably within a Corporate Service Provider (CSP) or professional services environment;
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, GAPSME, tax compliance, and statutory reporting requirements;
  • Experience managing accounting teams and overseeing the delivery of client accounting services;
  • Experience managing client audits, financial reporting processes, and regulatory obligations.
