Our client is a company that supports government-owned estates.Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Heading the Financial Management Unit, which includes functions such as accounting, tax, and processing;
- Preparing monthly management accounts and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cashflow statements, as well as annual financial statements and tax filings;
- Preparing budgets and evaluating actual performance against established budgets;
- Managing and monitoring grant expenditures, supervising and reviewing grant billings and reporting, analyzing spending versus budget variances, and making necessary adjustments for budget compliance;
- Analyzing revenue and expenditure trends within various functions and recommending appropriate budget levels to ensure expenditure control;
- Liaising and participating in exercises conducted by external auditors, internal auditors, banks, regulatory and governmental authorities/departments;
- Overseeing the completion of financial entries, including cash, receivables, payables, and revenue, and expense accrual entries;
- Reviewing requests for payments for accuracy and proper authorization;
- Reviewing revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents;
- Monitoring and reviewing accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness;
- Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies;
- Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
- Preparing and presenting reports and other documentation to Senior Management in a timely and accurate manner, as requested;
- Monitoring and reviewing the bank reconciliation of all bank accounts to ensure adequate funds for day-to-day company needs, including drawdowns from project-related loans, online payments to suppliers, and payroll;
- Initiating claims for payment/reimbursement under subvention voting lines of the GoM;
- Monitoring and reconciling payments of EU Funded projects (ERDF);
- Acting as a company signatory if required by the Board;
- Contributing to the achievement of the Company’s objectives;
- Implementing the Company’s policies and procedures within the finance function;
- Managing and leading continuous improvement and change within the finance function;
- Providing advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to staff regarding the Company’s plans, policies, and procedures;
- Communicating with staff to ensure clear definition and understanding of responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities;
- Delegating responsibilities as appropriate to staff;
- Providing guidance and leadership to staff;
- Supervising, training, coaching, and evaluating staff as needed;
- Performing any other job-related duties as necessary or assigned from time to time;
- Consulting with the CFO and/or other designated individuals to resolve sensitive or strategically important issues and problems.
Experience
- Be a fully qualified Accountant;
- Proven experience of working in a similar environment will be considered as an asset.
