Our client is a leading company in the hospitality, development and construction sectors.Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Offer comprehensive legal support, including expert counsel, meticulous drafting of memoranda and opinions, and ensure alignment with legal mandates and regulations for group entities and governing bodies;
- Craft and review contracts and agreements while conducting thorough legal analysis to address pertinent Group concerns;
- Spearhead strategic initiatives in corporate governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks, while upholding legal standards and fostering Group advancement in these domains;
- Provide adept guidance on company secretarial duties, financing, and capital market transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Listing Authority, MFSA, and Registry of Companies;
- Devise efficient systems for organizing and maintaining legal databases, files, and documents, while ensuring adherence to licensing requirements;
- Proactively ensure Group-wide compliance with evolving legal landscapes, with a keen focus on operational alignment with extant laws and regulations;
- Conduct thorough reviews of operational procedures, assessing Group activities, and offering strategic recommendations for improvement;
- Offer informed interpretations of laws, regulations, and rules to the Group's entities, while staying abreast of legal developments;
- Cultivate strong relationships and effective communication channels with internal stakeholders and external partners;
- Collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer to contribute effectively to the Group's legal function and undertake additional legal responsibilities as needed;
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the company to support its operations.
Experience
- Hold a degree in Law and a valid practicing warrant. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field would be advantageous;
- Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
- Demonstrate proficiency in written and verbal communication in both English and Maltese languages;
- Experience with Microsoft Office software.
