Company Introduction

Our client operates in the distribution of healthcare and pharmaceutical products.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Handle and distribute goods in accordance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal quality systems;
  • Ensure proper segregation of products by category, including returned, rejected, expired, damaged, or recalled goods, in clearly designated and labelled areas separate from saleable stock;
  • Maintain the warehouse in an organised, clean, and orderly condition at all times;
  • Complete required documentation and quality records accurately in line with company procedures;
  • Perform stock checks and inventory controls as required;
  • Verify incoming goods against delivery documentation and check products prior to dispatch;
  • Pick, prepare, and verify orders against invoices to ensure accuracy;
  • Ensure secure and appropriate packaging to prevent damage, breakage, or spillage during transportation;
  • Report any deviations from SOPs or quality standards to the direct superior or Responsible Person;
  • Operate lifting equipment and hand-pallet trucks where applicable;
  • Comply with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and quality standards at all times;
  • Participate in training sessions and assist in the training of other employees where required;
  • Support other departments when necessary to achieve shared quality and operational objectives;
  • Perform duties in a professional, careful, and responsible manner, avoiding damage to products, premises, or equipment;
  • Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and trucks requiring special licences;
  • Collect and sign for goods from suppliers as required;
  • Ensure that collected cash is properly handed over and verified by the Accounts Department;
  • Deliver products professionally and courteously, maintaining high customer service standards;
  • Ensure delivery vehicles are secured at all times, particularly when unattended;
  • Ensure controlled drugs are handed directly to the pharmacist upon delivery;
  • Inform clients immediately about cold-chain products requiring appropriate storage;
  • Report immediately to the direct superior or Responsible Person in case of unusual incidents during delivery (e.g., temperature deviations, equipment malfunctions, accidents, breakdowns, spillages, or theft).
  • Maintain responsibility for the vehicle assigned during each working day.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment will be considered an asset;
  • Experience within a GDP-regulated or pharmaceutical environment is advantageous;
  • In possession of a valid Category C or Category D driving licence;
  • A forklift driving licence will be considered an asset.

Personal Skills

  • Basic numerical skills and computer literacy;
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and manual handling procedures;
  • Ability to handle bags and boxes using a hand-pallet truck;
  • Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail;
  • Good communication skills and customer-oriented attitude;
  • Ability to read and write in English and Maltese;
  • Reliable, disciplined, and quality-focused in all tasks performed.
