Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage the daily operations, ensuring consistent and efficient delivery;
- Allocate workforce and equipment effectively to meet operational demands and service commitments;
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget;
- Liaise with the Sales Manager to address client requirements and identify opportunities to enhance services;
- Coordinate with the Compliance and Permitting teams to ensure operations comply with all internal protocols and regulatory standards;
- Prepare operational documentation including project-specific work plans, method statements, and risk assessments;
- Plan and optimise resource allocation to increase productivity and manage operational expenses;
- Monitor vehicle and equipment availability, minimising downtime and ensuring optimal usage;
- Evaluate ongoing resource requirements and propose enhancements where needed to support business growth;
- Contribute to the development of competitive project proposals and cost estimates;
- Align operational efforts with the company’s strategic objectives through close collaboration with senior leadership;
- Enhance client satisfaction and retention through consistent service excellence and professional delivery;
- Ensure all operations comply with the company’s integrated management systems related to quality, environmental, and health & safety standards;
- Track and evaluate key operational metrics, financial data, and project performance;
- Review forecasts and budgets to maintain alignment with organisational financial targets;
- Recommend improvements to drive operational efficiency and profitability;
- Act as the primary contact for clients regarding service execution and operational matters;
- Resolve client issues effectively and maintain high standards of service delivery;
- Ensure operational output consistently meets or exceeds client expectations;
- Cultivate a collaborative and respectful work environment that supports teamwork and accountability;
- Encourage continuous improvement across operational teams and support a culture of high performance;
- Facilitate training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and capability;
- Support the setup and operational planning of a new waste treatment facility;
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and environmental departments, to ensure smooth implementation;
- Assist in drafting standard operating procedures, workflows, and safety protocols;
- Participate in procurement, contractor evaluations, and readiness assessments related to facility launch.
Experience
- At least 5 years of proven experience in a leadership role within operations or a similar field;
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards and environmental compliance requirements;
- Solid understanding of operational metrics, cost control, and performance analysis to support informed decision-making;
- Well-versed in workplace health, safety, and environmental practices, with experience maintaining regulatory compliance and preparing for audits;
- Proven ability to translate strategic goals into efficient and actionable operational plans;
- Background in environmental services, or industrial sectors, is considered an asset.
