Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop detailed project plans defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies to minimise potential disruptions;
  • Plan and allocate required resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to support effective project execution;
  • Identify potential obstacles to project delivery and implement solutions aligned with customer requirements and expectations;
  • Maintain proactive communication with customers, providing responsive support, addressing feedback, and ensuring a high level of service throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Deliver projects within agreed timelines, in line with customer specifications and established quality standards;
  • Monitor and control project costs, including purchasing and material expenses, ensuring alignment with approved budgets;
  • Implement cost-control measures where necessary and analyse project performance to maximise efficiency and profitability;
  • Identify and manage project variations effectively, from quotation stage through to execution, to enhance commercial outcomes;
  • Prepare required project reports, track costs, and maintain accurate Works in Progress (WIP) records;
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and realistic billing in accordance with agreed payment schedules;
  • Act as the main point of contact for all project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, engineers, consultants, and external partners;
  • Build strong working relationships, facilitate effective communication, provide regular project updates, and manage stakeholder expectations;
  • Coordinate design inputs and technical requirements to support efficient project execution;
  • Work closely with the resource manager to guide project teams, develop schedules, and ensure deliverables are met;
  • Identify, appoint, and manage subcontractors as required, ensuring alignment with project and company standards;
  • Coordinate and manage handover processes between internal departments to ensure continuity and clarity;
  • Track project progress, identifying risks or issues early and implementing corrective actions to maintain timelines and quality;
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and design standards, as well as any client-specific operating procedures;
  • Oversee project activities to ensure appropriate methodologies are applied and recognised standards (e.g. ISO, LPCB) are adhered to;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, respond promptly to client enquiries, and conduct regular follow-ups;
  • Promote and support health and safety awareness on all projects, addressing concerns and supporting on-site teams in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

Experience

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable discipline;
  • In possession of a Maltese Engineering Warrant, or actively working towards obtaining one;
  • Previous experience in project management, safety and security systems, or a related field, with demonstrated exposure to project management responsibilities. Alternatively, a minimum of 3–4 years’ proven experience in a project management role with a record of successful project delivery;
  • Holder of a valid Maltese driving licence;
  • Proficient in project management tools and software, including Excel, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD;
  • Familiarity with recognised project management methodologies.

  • Open to new ideas and committed to continuous learning, professional development, and staying informed of industry and market trends;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with basic spoken and professional understanding of Maltese;
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities through relationship building and effective engagement.
