Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, customers, products and services or new ways to reach existing markets;
  • Seek and record the appropriate contact in an organisation;
  • Generate leads;
  • Meet with customers face to face;
  • Develop relationships with customers;
  • Understand the needs of the company’s customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these;
  • Think strategically – see the bigger picture and set aims and objectives to develop and improve business;
  • Work strategically – carry out the necessary planning to implement any agreed changes;
  • Have a good understanding of the business products/services and be able to advise clients about them;
  • Train members of the team;
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities;
  • Liaise with finance, warehousing and logistics;
  • Seek ways of how to improve the way the business operates;
  • Plan sales campaigns;
  • Negotiate prices with customers and suppliers;
  • Increase sales of the business;
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts and analysis and present to Finance;
  • Develop the business sales and marketing strategy.


  • Previous experience working in the sales industry;
  • Familiar with the automotive industry.
