Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assess credit risk relating to new and existing corporate lending facilities, ensuring alignment with established risk parameters;
  • Review credit applications and prepare recommendations for consideration by the Credit Committee;
  • Evaluate lending requests against the Company's defined risk appetite and credit requirements;
  • Analyse financial information to determine the creditworthiness and risk profile of corporate borrowers;
  • Coordinate with appointed architects and follow up on property valuations and related information;
  • Maintain regular communication with the Corporate Team, providing timely feedback on credit-related matters;
  • Support Senior Management and external stakeholders with credit risk information and ad-hoc requests;
  • Contribute to the review and ongoing development of risk management policies;
  • Assist with updates to credit procedures and supporting documentation;
  • Monitor the Company's large exposure risks and remain informed of relevant developments;
  • Maintain awareness of internal standards, requirements, and wider business objectives;
  • Support the continued development and expansion of the credit risk function, including the coordination of resources where required.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience within credit risk, preferably within corporate lending;
  • Diploma or Degree level qualification, preferably in Finance, Risk, or a related field;
  • Strong ability to assess, analyse, and interpret financial information;
  • Good knowledge of Maltese lending standards, including collateral requirements;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
