Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee and maintain the organization’s computer systems, including servers, network devices, and storage infrastructure;
  • Install, configure, and optimize hardware and software components to meet organizational needs;
  • Set up servers, devices, and firewalls;
  • Ensure the smooth deployment of new applications;
  • Identify and allocate resources for future infrastructure growth;
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary upgrades or patches;
  • Ensure the efficient operation of LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi networks;
  • Implement and uphold system security measures;
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff;
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues promptly;
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime during emergencies;
  • Ensure reliable network security and data protection;
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation;
  • Assure business continuity and implement policies;
  • Work within a hybrid Microsoft environment, ensuring synchronization with on-premises servers;
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for end users;
  • Maintain an accurate technical knowledge base and ensure existing documentation is up-to-date;
  • Lead the Operations team, providing guidance, setting priorities, and fostering collaboration;
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and effective communication with colleagues, management, and end-users;
  • Oversee project activities, ensuring the use of appropriate methods and adherence to company standards (ISO, LPCB);
  • Maintain updated records, sort documents, respond promptly to client inquiries, and conduct regular follow-ups;
  • Promote and uphold health and safety awareness, addressing concerns and supporting on-site personnel in compliance with local legislation;
  • Assist project managers with day-to-day duties;
  • Serve as a point of reference for new team members;
  • Lead by example and inspire the team.

Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in the IT industry, including a minimum of 1 year in a Senior System Administrator role;
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent proven experience in IT;
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networks, IP addressing, routing, and subnetting;
  • Proven experience in Cyber Security and the implementation of security policies;
  • Expertise in Linux, data entry, and troubleshooting;
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, MS365, AvP, PowerShell, and SQL Server;
  • Knowledge of security protocols to safeguard systems;
  • Strong understanding of budgeting principles and financial management practices in project management;
  • Familiarity with databases and data organization;
  • Scripting skills and extensive networking knowledge are highly desirable;

  • Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning are essential for success in this critical position;
  • Ability to handle project administration, scheduling, and coordination;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; basic verbal Maltese communication or understanding is a plus;
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and develop practical solutions;
  • Swift resolution of issues and crises with a meticulous attention to detail;
  • Commitment to ensuring high-quality project deliverables and maintaining accurate project documentation;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to plan and manage time effectively, with consistent punctuality and reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments;
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate project risks and proactively address them;
