Our client is an established corporate service provider.Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate closely with management on technical VAT matters, including the development and improvement of internal procedures;
- Oversee and review VAT compliance work carried out by junior team members across a varied client portfolio;
- Handle complex VAT-related matters, including advisory work, cross-border VAT implications, and sector-specific VAT treatments;
- Analyse legislative updates and assess their impact on client obligations and internal processes;
- Review VAT returns, recapitulative statements, and other related submissions for accuracy and compliance;
- Support clients with VAT registrations, deregistrations, and ongoing statutory requirements;
- Liaise with tax authorities on VAT-related matters, including compliance queries, audits, and investigations;
- Attend client meetings to provide guidance on VAT matters and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Experience
- Fully qualified accountant;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in VAT or indirect taxation;
- Professional qualification or certification in taxation will be considered an asset;
- Strong knowledge of Maltese and EU VAT legislation;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
