Our client is a leading Maltese producer of alcoholic beverages.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Actively engage with customers, offering friendly and knowledgeable recommendations based on taste, food pairings, and budget;
  • Build strong relationships with new and returning customers, fostering trust and loyalty through exceptional service;
  • Educate customers on wine types, grape varietals, vintages, and industry trends in an approachable and engaging way;
  • Upsell and cross-sell wines, including premium selections, accessories, and related products;
  • Support department goals by achieving sales targets and promoting featured or seasonal items;
  • Maintain attractive and organized wine displays that reflect the company’s visual and brand standards in hotels, dining areas, and restaurants for special occasions;
  • Assist with seasonal resets, promotional displays, and special features to drive customer interest;
  • Stay informed on current wine trends and developments within the industry;
  • Participate in tastings, trainings, and visits to continuously enhance product knowledge;
  • Share insights with team members to elevate overall department expertise;
  • Assist with the set-up and execution of company wine festivals and special events;
  • Support team members in engaging with customers during events;
  • Provide feedback on customer preferences and product opportunities to department leadership.

Experience

  • Possession of a WSET Level 3 Diploma or similar wine certification is advantageous;
  • Previous experience in wine sales, hospitality, or customer service is desirable;
  • Basic knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and food pairings; formal training or certifications are a plus.

  • Strong verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills;
  • Professional and approachable, able to engage confidently with clients at all levels, including senior management and hospitality staff;
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform efficiently in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
