What do you think Malta Gaming Week represents and is so important for the gaming industry in Malta?
Malta Gaming Week is certainly a calendar highlight for the international iGaming industry, hosting a variety of conferences, seminars and events. The main focus will undoubtably be on SiGMA, having grown to be one of the largest iGaming conferences in Europe, expecting an attendance of 12,500 visitors from over 80 countries. The various events shine a spotlight on Malta as one of the primary jurisdictions of establishment for an industry that has without a doubt been a major success story and continues to grow steadily. It also gives potential newcomers an excellent opportunity to discover Malta and everything that makes it the best place to be for the iGaming industry including the new regulations issued by the MGA, a good work-life balance, great lifestyle and company perks that will make you want to join in.
What are you expecting from this year’s edition of SiGMA?
Is there anything you are particularly looking forward to? What events will you be participating in?
My primary focus will be on scouting the SiGMA expo to touch base with existing clients of Broadwing Recruitment and Rocksteady Digital Agency while we encourage our team to use the opportunity to build their professional network and better understand the trends of an industry we work with very closely. I will also be attending the Blockchain and Careers Conferences before enjoying a drink and mingling with like-minded professionals during the long-awaited and highly successful networking events.
As a leading recruitment company for the iGaming industry, are there any particular industry trends you can identify for the coming years?
It’s safe to say that from an HR perspective, the excellent employee benefits are the most talked about industry trend, supported by their awesome events and encouraging activism including Malta Pride and World Cleanup Day, allowing employees to truly feel proud of where they work. Couple this with the generous salaries offered in the industry and you’ve got a formula that continues to attract newcomers and gives the industry a competitive edge in recruitment. However it’s not all about attracting new talent, as is evident through the Boomeranging phenomenon seen mainly in the iGaming industry, where former employees return to their original employer after a period of absence. This is partially attributed to a fun working environment and good opportunities for career progression.
