Our client is a leading operator in the hospitality industry.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • To communicate and report to all above seniors and support them in the daily operation and work;
  • To prepare meals or foodstuffs according to the menu specifications;
  • To ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with new products, recipes and preparation techniques;
  • The chef has to know how to store food at the right temperatures;
  • To assist in the kitchen preparation and the buffet service area. To ensure that all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity and served to the specifications set on the menu;
  • To pack and wrap items for the outlet;
  • The chef may serve as head chef in his absence;
  • The chef is responsible for the cleanliness of his station;
  • To control and check items of equipment and to control the food stock;
  • The chef may work in various sections in the kitchens when assigned to them;
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures;
  • To be familiar with HACCP Standards and Health & Safety Regulations as stipulated by Law;
  • Being familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures;
  • To ensure all security incidents & accidents are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the direct manager;
  • The chef is also expected to perform any duties as per operations requirements as instructed by the Head Chef.


  • Candidates must have experience working in a similar role for at least 1-2 years.

Personal Skills

  • To be proactive to the needs of the Kitchen operation, and anticipate any shortcomings;
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken);
  • Team worker and takes initiative and decisions when not supervised;
  • A good standard of education;
  • Willing to work flexible hours including weekends.
