Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and issue client invoices in accordance with agreed contractual terms and billing schedules;
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments in a professional and timely manner;
- Process and allocate incoming payments against the appropriate client accounts and invoices;
- Perform regular reconciliations of client accounts and assist with supplier account reconciliations where required;
- Investigate and resolve billing queries, payment discrepancies, and other account-related issues;
- Liaise with Sales, Account Management, and other internal departments regarding billing arrangements and contractual information;
- Assist with month-end accounting activities, including accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations;
- Prepare accounts receivable, ageing, cash collection, and other financial reports for management;
- Assist with credit assessments and the financial setup of new client accounts;
- Maintain accurate and organised accounting records and supporting documentation;
- Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing schedules and providing the necessary financial information;
- Ensure accounting activities are carried out in accordance with internal controls, financial procedures, and company policies;
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting and billing processes and support the implementation of improvements;
- Provide support across other finance functions when required.
Experience
- Currently pursuing ACCA, or holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an A-Level Diploma in Accounting from MCAST;
- Previous experience as an Accounts Executive or within a similar accounting position;
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles, reconciliations, invoicing, and accounts receivable processes;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel;
- Be fluent in English and ideally Maltese.
