Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and client accounts;
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions;
- Maintain organised records of invoices, receipts, and supporting financial documentation;
- Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve invoice discrepancies when required;
- Support the onboarding of new clients, including setting up ledger accounts and carrying out initial data entry;
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts;
- Support budget preparation, monitoring, and cost control activities;
- Monitor cash flow, expenditure, and financial forecasts;
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure financial records are accurate and complete;
- Assist with the preparation of VAT and corporate income tax returns;
- Ensure accounting activities are carried out in line with applicable financial regulations and requirements;
- Support external audits by preparing and providing the required financial records and documentation;
- Continue progressing towards the completion of the relevant professional accounting qualification.
Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or approximately halfway through the ACCA qualification;
- Around 2 years of relevant accounting experience will be considered an asset;
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and relevant financial regulations;
- Previous experience using Xero will be considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of accounting software and financial systems.
