Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure that the companies operate in full compliance with all applicable Maltese laws and regulations, including CSP and Trust regulatory frameworks, while providing support to other regulatory functions within the Group.;
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update internal policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices;
  • Monitor business activities to identify potential compliance risks, conduct periodic risk assessments, and present findings to the Board through quarterly compliance reports;
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions to employees to ensure understanding of compliance obligations and reinforce the importance of regulatory adherence;
  • Work closely with other departments to identify, assess, and mitigate risks arising from non-compliance, strengthening the overall risk management framework;
  • Conduct internal reviews, audits, and investigations to ensure compliance standards are upheld and address any issues promptly, liaising with external auditors or regulatory authorities where necessary;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Maltese regulatory authorities, maintaining effective communication and providing required documentation and information as requested;
  • Provide guidance and advisory support to employees on compliance matters, including the interpretation of regulatory requirements and ethical considerations;
  • Promote and reinforce a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct across the organisation;
  • Identify areas for improvement within the compliance framework and recommend and implement enhancements to strengthen the overall programme;
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members, identifying development needs and providing constructive feedback to support professional growth.

Experience

  • Strong knowledge of corporate services and trust sector regulations and applicable industry standards;
  • Sound understanding of the Maltese regulatory framework and compliance obligations;
  • In-depth expertise in due diligence, AML procedures, and related compliance practices;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • Previous management or team leadership experience.
