- Lead and oversee the Accounting & Controlling department, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with MFSA, ECB, and IFRS standards;
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, guaranteeing all accounting records are precise and thoroughly documented;
- Supervise the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and regulatory filings;
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to protect financial data integrity and safeguard the Bank’s assets;
- Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives;
- Perform cost accounting, profitability assessments, and variance analysis to inform business decisions;
- Develop, implement, and refine financial policies, procedures, and systems to enhance operational efficiency;
- Serve as the primary liaison for auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities, overseeing audits and compliance inspections;
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial data integration across departments;
- Stay updated on evolving accounting standards, tax laws, and banking regulations, ensuring their timely adoption;
- Mentor and guide the finance team, promoting a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and high performance.
Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent), or nearing completion of qualification;
- At least 5 years’ experience in accounting and finance, ideally within banking or financial services;
- Comprehensive understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and regulatory bodies such as MFSA and ECB;
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.

- Track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust internal controls and financial procedures;
