Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and lead the Group's data strategy, promoting a data-driven culture to support business growth and informed decision-making;
  • Establish, implement, and maintain the Group's Data Governance Framework, including data policies, standards, procedures, and accountability structures;
  • Oversee data quality management by implementing validation processes, monitoring data quality metrics, and ensuring data accuracy across the organisation;
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, retention, and storage requirements in line with applicable regulations, including GDPR and DORA;
  • Develop and maintain metadata management processes, including data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data asset inventories;
  • Lead data governance initiatives, delivering training and awareness programmes to promote best practices across the business;
  • Identify, document, and manage operational, regulatory, legal, and business data requirements across all departments;
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of regulatory reporting solutions, ensuring accurate and timely submission of required reports;
  • Ensure the accuracy and availability of data supporting financial reconciliations, transaction monitoring, and financial crime reporting;
  • Design, implement, and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) and Management Information (MI) solutions, including dashboards, reporting tools, and analytical reports;
  • Manage data platforms, reporting solutions, and third-party vendors, ensuring continuous improvement, system optimisation, and service delivery;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for data-related vendors, processors, and external stakeholders, managing system configurations, issue resolution, and change requests;
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs);
  • Provide subject matter expertise on data capabilities, reporting requirements, and processor integrations to support business initiatives and strategic projects;
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of database structures, APIs, cloud-based data platforms, and ETL/ELT processes;
  • Coordinate data validation and reporting testing for new products, services, and system enhancements;
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Data Management team, promoting high standards of data quality and technical capability;
  • Drive initiatives supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) readiness through effective data governance and management;
  • Deliver ad hoc reporting, analysis, and strategic data projects as required by senior management.

Experience

  • Hold a MQF Level 6 Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in Data Management, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, or a similar senior role;
  • Previous experience managing teams and leading data governance initiatives;
  • Strong background within Financial Services, Banking, Electronic Money Institutions, or the Payments industry;
  • Experience with card issuing, payment processing, and Visa and Mastercard environments;
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks including PCI DSS, GDPR, DORA, CESOP, FATCA/CRS, Financial Crime reporting, PSS, and Scheme reporting;
  • Experience with data platforms, cloud technologies, APIs, database design, and ETL/ELT processes;
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Power BI, DAX, Python, and other data analysis and reporting tools;
  • Experience implementing Business Intelligence and Management Information reporting solutions.
