Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and manage a team of risk analysts, ensuring high performance and development;
  • Oversee transaction monitoring processes to detect potential fraud or risk, identify key risk areas, and implement effective mitigation strategies;
  • Maintain and update the Company’s Risk Management Policies and Procedures in line with regulatory standards and business needs;
  • Execute and periodically review the Risk Monitoring Programme to ensure it addresses critical and emerging business risks;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish and promote effective risk management frameworks, standards, and practices;
  • Supervise the company’s credit risk management function to ensure appropriate oversight and controls are in place;
  • Prepare and present periodic risk reports for the Risk Committee and the Board of Directors;
  • Stay informed of regulatory developments and industry trends to ensure ongoing alignment with best practices in risk management.

Experience

  • Must have the necessary experience and/or qualifications to be eligible for MFSA approval as a Risk Officer;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable managerial position within the banking, investment, or broader financial services sector;
  • Technologically proficient, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy;
  • Previous exposure to credit facilities is considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring processes is preferred.

  • Able to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
