Our client is a bank.Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide legal guidance on deeds of borrowing and related matters, including the perfection of securities;
- Advise and collaborate with internal departments regarding borrowing facilities;
- Manage legal documentation, including drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements as required;
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external legal representatives acting on behalf of the Bank;
- Represent the Bank in notarial deeds of loan, waivers, and other banking facility matters;
- Advise on legal actions and strategies in cases involving defaulting clients;
- Conduct legal research and provide support to other departments on various legal matters as needed;
- Assist the Compliance Officer with regulatory and compliance-related tasks when required;
- Stay informed of changes in legislation and regulations relevant to the role.
Experience
- Hold a Doctorate of Law with strong knowledge of corporate, commercial law, and the real estate sector;
- Must be licensed to practice law in Malta and possess excellent command of both English and Maltese;
- Prior experience in a credit institution, legal department, or notarial office is preferred.

- Effective communicator, confident in liaising with external counsel and regulatory authorities on legal and compliance matters.
