Our client is a leading operator in the hospitality industry.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee the maintenance and general upkeep of hotel facilities, equipment, and infrastructure, ensuring they remain safe and fully operational;
  • Plan and manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure repair requests are addressed efficiently;
  • Monitor the condition and performance of building services, plant, and equipment to maximise their operational lifespan;
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable health and safety, fire, security, and statutory requirements;
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, certificates, maintenance records, and related documentation;
  • Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and control operational costs;
  • Ensure maintenance-related purchasing and storage activities are carried out in line with established procedures;
  • Coordinate maintenance works with other departments to minimise disruption to hotel operations and guests;
  • Manage maintenance budgets and support effective cost control across the department;
  • Lead, train, and develop the maintenance team while monitoring day-to-day performance;
  • Work closely with management and Heads of Department to address technical and operational requirements;
  • Provide technical support in resolving maintenance-related guest concerns when required;
  • Ensure incidents and accidents relating to the department are appropriately documented and escalated.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a maintenance management or supervisory position;
  • Must hold both Wireman’s Licence A and Licence B;
  • Recognised technical qualification in maintenance, engineering, building services, or a related field;
  • Previous maintenance experience within a hotel environment will be considered a strong asset but is not essential;
  • Strong technical knowledge of building services, plant and equipment, and preventive maintenance systems;
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation, fire safety, and statutory compliance requirements;
  • Experience managing budgets, controlling maintenance costs, and monitoring utility consumption;
  • Basic proficiency in IT systems and maintenance reporting tools;
  • Flexibility to respond to operational requirements, including emergencies and on-call duties.
