Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage energy projects from contract award through planning, execution, commissioning, and final handover;
  • Define project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and key deliverables;
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, testing, and commissioning activities;
  • Monitor project progress, costs, resources, and milestones to ensure delivery within agreed timelines and budgets;
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, bills of quantities, and other engineering documentation;
  • Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments throughout project delivery;
  • Oversee installation and commissioning activities, ensuring equipment and materials meet approved technical specifications;
  • Identify and manage project risks, delays, technical issues, and cost overruns, implementing corrective actions where required;
  • Manage project variations and additional works, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals are obtained;
  • Monitor project expenditure and review supplier and subcontractor quotations in coordination with relevant departments;
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and other project stakeholders regarding progress, requirements, and project-related matters;
  • Ensure project activities comply with contractual requirements, applicable legislation, technical standards, and quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures;
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, quality-control activities, and liaison with consultants, authorities, and regulatory bodies when required;
  • Prepare progress, financial, and technical reports for management and clients;
  • Maintain accurate project records, including approvals, decisions, changes, and supporting documentation;
  • Coordinate project completion and handover, including certificates, manuals, test results, as-built documentation, and outstanding works;
  • Support warranty follow-up and post-commissioning activities where required.

Experience

  • Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Power Engineering, or a related technical discipline;
  • Previous experience managing engineering, construction, power-generation, energy, or similar technical projects;
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, procurement, installation, and commissioning processes;
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and subcontractors;
  • Good understanding of project cost control and commercial considerations;
  • Knowledge of QA/QC, HSE requirements, and applicable technical standards;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project-planning software;
  • Hold a valid driving licence;
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally according to project requirements;
  • A recognised project management qualification, such as PMP or PRINCE2, will be considered an asset.
