Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Proactively build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers through sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, and other engagement activities to generate future bookings;
  • Develop connections within the community to expand and diversify the customer base for new sales opportunities;
  • Plan, develop, and implement business strategies aligned with the General Manager’s objectives;
  • Assist with budget creation and management to meet financial goals;
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Provide accurate and timely sales updates to Event and Corporate Management;
  • Actively participate in sales activities by visiting clients and making frequent sales calls to acquire and close new business;
  • Research and develop new leads to grow the property’s business;
  • Upsell opportunities within each business engagement to maximize revenue potential;
  • Execute and support operational tasks for booked business, including proposal generation, contract preparation, and client correspondence;
  • Identify new business opportunities to achieve personal and location revenue targets;
  • Understand market trends, competitor strengths and weaknesses, economic shifts, and supply-demand dynamics to position the property competitively;
  • Close the best sales opportunities based on current market conditions and location needs;
  • Gain deep understanding of the location’s primary target customers and service expectations to offer tailored business solutions;
  • Uphold and promote the brand’s customer service standards and the property’s brand identity;
  • Engage with guests to collect feedback on product quality and service levels;
  • Serve as the main contact for daily communications and represent the Company in all sales and marketing decisions;
  • Define the company’s sales philosophy, including policies, objectives, quotas, and goals;
  • Develop detailed annual business plans to achieve sales targets aligned with company objectives and budget;
  • Build, manage, and analyze the sales database to identify new market niches and increase market share;
  • Review marketing, advertising, and sales campaign results; present reports with recommendations for improvements to senior management;
  • Oversee the design, layout, and copy of all sales and advertising materials;
  • Review and approve marketing expenses, negotiate vendor contracts, and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies in coordination with the General Manager;
  • Manage all sales contracts, ensuring compliance with company and corporate procedures;
  • Control sales-related costs such as labor, commissions, and outsourcing to maintain profitability;
  • Maintain personal contact with key customers and monitor the management of large accounts;
  • Cultivate relationships with key personnel and meet client needs through meetings, portfolio management, and responsive communication;
  • Review product pricing based on cost analysis, market conditions, and competition; recommend adjustments to the Financial Controller and Hotel Manager;
  • Address disciplinary matters within the department, maintain detailed records, and liaise with HR to update policies as needed;
  • Foster effective leadership by enhancing communication and teamwork across all levels of the Sales and Marketing department;
  • Coordinate regularly with the Operations Manager and Financial Controller to ensure company targets are met;
  • Stay informed on health and safety regulations and ensure all department personnel comply with company standards.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and cultivating strong client relationships within competitive markets;
  • Skilled in budget management and leading cross-functional teams;
  • Experienced in managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation through to deal closure;
  • Competent in planning and executing marketing campaigns.
