Our client is a bank.Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide legal advice on deeds of borrowing and related matters, including the perfection of securities;
- Collaborate with internal departments on borrowing facilities and related legal matters;
- Manage legal documentation, including drafting, reviewing, and vetting contracts and agreements as required;
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external legal counsel representing the Bank;
- Represent the Bank in notarial deeds of loan, waivers, and other banking facility transactions;
- Advise on legal actions concerning defaulting clients and non-performing loans;
- Conduct legal research and support other departments on legal matters as needed;
- Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory changes relevant to the role.
Experience
- Doctorate of Law with strong knowledge of corporate, commercial law, and the real estate sector;
- Licensed to practice law in Malta with excellent command of both English and Maltese;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a credit institution or in a legal office supporting banking operations;
- Preference given to candidates with litigation experience related to non-performing loans.

- Effective communicator, confident in liaising with external counsel and regulatory authorities on legal and compliance matters.
