Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Carry out routine inspections, maintenance checks, and general repairs throughout the facility;
  • Review daily maintenance requirements and address repairs according to priority;
  • Perform general maintenance work, including basic electrical checks, plumbing, painting, plastering, and handyman repairs;
  • Carry out basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting, including AC and filter checks;
  • Monitor plant room equipment and carry out relevant maintenance activities as required;
  • Inspect doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, and other facility equipment, carrying out repairs or replacements when necessary;
  • Complete scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual facility checks;
  • Identify faults and maintenance issues, taking appropriate action or coordinating with external engineers and service providers when specialist assistance is required;
  • Perform routine fire and safety checks and ensure any identified issues are appropriately followed up;
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, meter readings, and outstanding issues;
  • Ensure tools, equipment, storage areas, and facility access points are maintained in a safe and orderly condition;
  • Liaise with management, contractors, service providers, and other departments regarding maintenance requirements;
  • Support the safe and efficient operation of the facility while following established procedures and safety requirements.

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience within a maintenance or facilities-related position is required, with previous hotel maintenance experience considered an asset;
  • Practical knowledge of general maintenance work, including basic electrical work, plumbing, handyman repairs, painting, plastering, and basic HVAC maintenance;
  • Experience in plant room maintenance and knowledge of Legionella awareness will be considered an asset;
  • Relevant technical training, education, or practical experience that provides the knowledge required to carry out general facility maintenance duties;
  • A valid driving licence and access to own transport are required;
  • Good written and spoken English.
