Our client is a trusted and experienced distributor of medical devices in Malta, delivering high-quality healthcare solutions to hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and patients in Malta as the exclusive distributor of a leading stoma and wound care products.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Monitor public tender portals and identify tender opportunities aligned with IPL’s product portfolio and strategic objectives;
- Review, assess, and prepare tender submissions, including both technical and financial components;
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain accurate technical specifications and supporting documentation required for tender submissions;
- Work closely with management to develop competitive pricing strategies, financial proposals, and commercial terms;
- Ensure all tender submissions comply with applicable Maltese and EU public procurement regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies;
- Maintain well-organised tender files, timelines, and compliance records; track submission deadlines and respond to clarification requests;
- Conduct market research to analyse trends, competitor activity, product developments, and potential cost-saving opportunities;
- Evaluate product suitability and value propositions for hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare environments;
- Identify opportunities within private healthcare channels and potential public–private partnership initiatives;
- Monitor inventory levels across the portfolio and forecast demand using historical data, clinical programmes, and market insights;
- Coordinate supply chain activities to minimise stock shortages or excess inventory, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to optimise lead times and deliveries;
- Support pricing strategies, promotional initiatives, and product lifecycle planning in collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including clinicians, pharmacists, finance, regulatory/compliance, and other departments, to align procurement and sales strategies with operational needs;
- Provide product knowledge, technical support, and clinical insights to healthcare professionals;
- Organise and deliver product demonstrations, training sessions, and meetings for doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff, both on-site and virtually;
- Promote products through approved channels, including face-to-face meetings, demonstrations, and educational engagements;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies to support long-term sales growth;
- Contribute to sales planning activities and support the achievement of quarterly and annual sales targets.
Experience
- Proven experience working with public procurement processes and Maltese tendering procedures;
- Background in medical devices or the pharmaceutical sector is considered an advantage;
- High level of proficiency in English; knowledge of Maltese is an asset.
- Comfortable using procurement and tendering platforms, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
