Our client is a boutique accounting and auditing firm.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, risk assessments, and client liaison;
  • Supervise, coach, and support audit team members, providing structured feedback and contributing to their professional growth;
  • Ensure all audit assignments are carried out in accordance with applicable auditing standards and internal quality control policies;
  • Review financial statements, audit reports, and working papers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance;
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the engagement, maintaining strong and professional working relationships;
  • Identify key audit risks, develop appropriate audit responses, and address complex accounting matters, escalating where necessary;
  • Present audit findings, recommendations, and insights to clients and senior leadership in a clear and concise manner;
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, including the preparation of proposals and participation in client presentations;
  • Remain informed of developments in accounting standards, audit regulations, and industry best practices.

Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent);
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in audit, including at least 1 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity;
  • At least 2 years’ hands-on experience working with Maltese legislation and local regulatory requirements;
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks such as IFRS, US GAAP, or UK GAAP;
  • Experience managing multiple audit engagements concurrently;
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office applications.
