Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist with a range of banking and finance transactions, representing both lenders and borrowers;
- Support corporate, project, and asset finance matters across a diverse client portfolio;
- Draft, review, and advise on financing documentation, security arrangements, and legal opinions;
- Conduct legal due diligence and provide support on refinancing transactions and other finance-related matters;
- Provide practical legal advice to clients throughout the different stages of a transaction;
- Liaise with clients, financial institutions, and external advisers to support the efficient handling of matters;
- Carry out legal research and remain up to date with Maltese and EU legal and regulatory developments relevant to banking and finance;
- Work closely with senior members of the team while developing specialist knowledge within banking and finance law.
Experience
- Academic and/or professional background in Law, with a good understanding of Corporate and Civil Law;
- Strong interest in developing a career within Banking and Finance Law;
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills;
- Good understanding of legal and regulatory matters affecting commercial and financial transactions;
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
