Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with a range of banking and finance transactions, representing both lenders and borrowers;
  • Support corporate, project, and asset finance matters across a diverse client portfolio;
  • Draft, review, and advise on financing documentation, security arrangements, and legal opinions;
  • Conduct legal due diligence and provide support on refinancing transactions and other finance-related matters;
  • Provide practical legal advice to clients throughout the different stages of a transaction;
  • Liaise with clients, financial institutions, and external advisers to support the efficient handling of matters;
  • Carry out legal research and remain up to date with Maltese and EU legal and regulatory developments relevant to banking and finance;
  • Work closely with senior members of the team while developing specialist knowledge within banking and finance law.

Experience

  • Academic and/or professional background in Law, with a good understanding of Corporate and Civil Law;
  • Strong interest in developing a career within Banking and Finance Law;
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills;
  • Good understanding of legal and regulatory matters affecting commercial and financial transactions;
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
